The Elementary program offers your child an unparalleled opportunity for growth in this new period of life. Your imaginative, social, and creative child needs an environment with appropriate freedom and limitations, with an expansive curriculum to support limitless curiosity and to offer preparation for the challenges of the future.
Real learning occurs when children are engaged – not when the teacher makes a blanket assignment. Curiosity is championed in our Elementary, and your child is encouraged to explore concepts to a level of detail only limited by imagination. Children work at their own pace, allowing for individualized learning and the development of independent thinking skills. The classroom environment encourages teamwork and social responsibility, fostering a sense of community among the students.
We believe children learn to be adaptable by supporting them to solve their own problems, rather than solving problems for them. With the help of a supportive adult, your child can, most often, find the best solution.
The ultimate goal of the Lower Elementary program is to create a learning environment that develops self confidence along with skills and acquiring knowledge. The curriculum encourages the natural curiosity of the students through hands on materials and collaborative activities.
Our child attended MCHL from preschool through 3rd grade and has had a wonderful learning experience. In addition to a robust and personalized classroom curriculum, the children have the opportunity to learn another language as well as flourish in music and art. Montessori Children's House of Loudoun encourages parents to be very involved in their kids' education and we've felt welcome to take part, volunteer, and enjoy this critical time in our child's development. Overall I would definitely recommend this school!

It is hard to sum up our six years at MCHL in a few sentences. We have enjoyed watching our two daughters grow from small toddlers in training pants to confident kindergartners who possess a multitude of skills. They blossomed under the care of wonderful teachers and a school environment that fosters learning in addition to kindness, consideration, and manners. MCHL became a second family throughout the years, and it was indeed very difficult to say goodbye.
